“While cocoa can now be enjoyed in an endless array of products around the world, this delicacy has history that’s equally rich and compelling.” World Cocoa Foundation
“From German chocolate cake to Swiss cocoa, today, people … enjoy chocolate in thousands of different forms, consuming more than 3 million tons of cocoa beans annually. Throughout its evolution, one thing has remained constant— chocolate has never lacked an avid following of people who love the “food of the gods.”
The work of the World Cocoa Foundation and its partners help to ensure that this valuable crop is sustained and enjoyed for many generations to come.”

What is your favorite way to use cocoa? Here’s one of mine:
Luscious Candy Cane Cocoa
2 cups milk
4 heaping tablespoons of dark cocoa powder
2 red and white striped peppermint candies crushed
Additional sweetener of your choice, as desired
2 small red and white striped candy canes
Directions: In sauce pan bring milk to simmer. Add cocoa and crushed candies. Stir or whisk until cocoa has dissolved and the milk is nicely warm. Divide hot cocoa between mugs, garnish with whipped cream and serve with candy cane stirring stick.
Enjoy and, seriously, check out the history of cocoa and the good works of the World Cocoa Foundation.
